#4 · House modelling part 1/3

Learn in 3 parts how to model a 3D house in Blender. In this first part you'll learn to make the shape of the house, door, windows and doorstep. You learn the difference between object and edit mode. In edit mode I show you how "extrude" and "loop cut" works.

This is part 1 of 3 for modelling the house. After these three parts you van make "the challenge" for the house. In "the challenge" you only got to see the end result without any instructions. With the knowledge from the three parts you should be able to model the example given.

The Blender 3D for beginners tutorials series guides you through the world of Blender. A video is around 10 minutes and shows you step-by-step how to make the scene. The website contains the course material including the .blend files used in this tutorial.

About Bas on Tech

My name is Bas van Dijk, entrepreneur, freelance frontend developer and maker. With Bas on Tech I share video tutorials on a wide variety of tech subjects i.e. Arduino, Blender, Fusion 360 and 3D printing.

In 2003 I discovered Blender, a Dutch made open source 3D modelling tool. The interface was quite complex and difficult to understand. After lots of trial and error I was able to model my own "software box".

2005 became the year where I wrote my own Blender ebook: BlenderCourse. BlenderCourse was a 100 pages free PDF ebook, which allowed everyone to lear working with Blender. This book was written for Blender 2.37

Nowadays Blender looks completely different, which made the ebook obsolete. I took this as a change to create a new video serie about Blender.

With Bas on Tech I want to share my knowledge so others can experience this happiness as well. I've chosen to make short, yet powerful YouTube videos with a the same structure and one subject per video. Each video is accompanied by the Blender files.
